Milla 2 - ADOPTED female 7 month old Croatian shepherd cross - On Death Row

Milla is a 7 month old Croatian shepherd cross who, in her short life has already had to suffer hardship, fear and the loneliness that comes with abandonment. Working breeds like her are only of use to work with livestock and if one of the working females gets pregnant the pups are often thrown on to the streets as the land owners have no use for so many dogs on their land. So, at a very young age Milla was torn from her mother and her siblings. As well as the great loss and heartache she will have felt, she also found herself on the street, hungry, thirsty and with no shelter or protection. Every day she would have seen and heard fighting between other street dogs, and seen dogs her age and younger being killed or dying because they just could get enough food or water to survive. But Milla struggled on and found a way to survive through will power and immense physical and mental strength.

As if her life hadn't thrown enough at her already Milla has now found herself in the pound. She is in a kennel with many other dogs, all of whom she gets along with. But still the fights break out as food is still very scarce and the bigger dogs battle the smaller dogs for it daily. Still she has to listen to screams and cries of dogs being attacked. And, worse still being her means she is on Death Row.

Milla's Death Date is the 10th August 2013, so we have until 9th to find her a home and get this poor little girl out of that place.

As a charity that helps thousands of animals every year in various ways, we just do not have the resources or foster homes to take all the dogs from death row. All we and our network of rescuers/carers can do is visit the dogs every day, feed them and make sure they are well whilst we try frantically to find each one a home. We get all dogs ready to travel in the hope that they will find homes in time.
Milla's only time in the sun, and with human contact, is on a Saturday when some local people come to take the dogs for a walk. She greets these people with a lot of tail wagging and eyes that light up at the sight of them coming. She is very well behaved for her companions and seems to especially enjoy the company of the youngsters who come to spend time with her. She likes to walk but also enjoys just sitting being cuddled and petted.
Sadly though the light that comes to her eyes disappears again when she is taken back to the pound and see's her friends walking away again.
Milla is desperate to love people and be loved by them. She has a huge heart and surely deserves now to be given a loving and forever home. She has come through so much, and suffered so much and now faces death .. she desperately needs a special family to save her, and to show her what a happy home can be like.
