SWEETIE

Wednesday, 16 January 2013

ADOPTED - SWEETIE, stunning 4 old male retriever cross needing a forever home

This is Sweetie, a stunning black Retriever cross male. Once giving all his loyalty and love to a family who in return for such devotion abandoned him in the house when they moved to another area, without food, water or access to escape his then prison.

Thankfully one of rescuers in our network heard this poor dgs cried for help and by an unlocked back door was able to gain access and so begun her daily visits to him, to feed, water and care for him. She also takes him for regular walks but sadly as she has no more space in her home she has to return him each night back to his prison and there he remains in hopes of one day being lead not just for a walk but to his new forever home where again he will give his loyalty and love but this time, his new family will not abandon him and leave him to what would have been a certain death.

When you read this, you would not be blamed for being shocked by such cruel actions to leave your own dog to die in a building you vacated. But just like the main country our charity helps the animals with , which is Romania. This country where Sweetie was born and treated so cruelly is Croatia, sharing the same backward and cruel mentality. To abuse or kill dogs or any animal for that matter is a way of life it would seem.

With the corrupt political and legal system it is for the most part the abusers who come out top, not there victims...This is where our charity steps in and along with the incredible few people in that country who do care for these animals, we are doing our best to make a difference.
.
Sweetie is an incredible dog, he has a very laid back temperamental and adores human company. Incredibly sociable he gets along very well with other dogs. he has not been cat tested as yet and so would not recommend a home with feline family members or at least until we cant test him and can say for sure

This handsome boy needs a loving home, somewhere he can call his own. If you could offer him this, please contact our charity as soon as possible.

Sweetie is
Microchipped
Fully vaccinated
Dewormed
Deflead
Vet checked
Has own EU Pet Passport

JAZZ

Wednesday, 22 May 2013

ADOPTED - Jazz - 2 year old female Beautiful Dachshund Cross Imprisoned in a shed now rescued and looking for a forever home

This is Jazz, an incredibly beautiful 2 year old Dachshund Cross whose previous owners deliberately locked he in a shed without food and only a rusty old bowl with water. She survived like this for 3 weeks.

Jazz when first rescued
You would have no idea when looking at these photos that a short while ago rescuers from our Croatian network had to break into a shed to rescue with poor little dog before she died of starvation.

When they broke in poor Jazz was up to her little knees in mud and dirt as well as obviously her own excrement. This poor little angel had been deliberately locked in there by a callous individual who do such things purely because they can without any retribution from the locals or the authorities ..Why? Because this is Croatia and animals are deemed as vermin to do what you wish with. To use, abuse and treat with no compassion.

This type of cruelty is common place in Croatia, just like strays in Romania our charity also helps these animals will be put through the worst inhumane treatment anyone would think possible. But thankfully, unlike the thousands who will suffer the same if not worse fate than this little dog. Jazz was rescued.

As soon as she was got out of there she was taken back to the rescuers home, fed, cleaned up and then whisked off to the vets for a health check and to be vaccinated. She was also deflead, de wormed and given antibiotics and nourishment build up to get her back to a healthy weight and fight any infection she may have caught whilst imprisoned in that shed surrounded by dirt and filth.

She was taken back to her foster home where she was looked after and within a few days she was a changed dog. Running around the garden playing with the other foster dogs and also the cats. Her ordeal had not affected her in anyway, she just loves life and wants to enjoy it as much as she can.

It will come as no surprise then to learn that this little angel gets along very well with other dogs, cats and she absolutely adores human company. What she needs most of all now is a forever home to love and care for, to never abandon or harm her in anyway. To treat her as the little princess she truly is.

Jazz is:
Microchipped
Fully Vaccinated
Dewormed
DeFlead
Vetchecked
Has EU Pet Passport
Sterilised

Please do contact our charity as soon as possible if you would like to welcome Jazz as a new member of your family.

SHAPKA

Tuesday, 18 June 2013

ADOPTED - Shapka - female schnautzer cross - 1 year old

Beautiful Shapka was born on the streets. It is a very hard life for a pup on the streets. There is very little shelter and even less food. Her mother will have scavenged for as much to eat as possible, but if she couldn't get enough her milk would not have been nourishing enough .. and at these times Shapka would have gone very hungry herself. It is also a very frightening place to grow up. As there is so little food the bigger dogs will attack the more submissive smaller dogs and even the pups so Shapka would have seen, and heard a lot of fighting and a lot of the sounds of dogs in pain, and even dying.

It is a sign of her strength of character that she survived all of this to get to the age she has. Now however she has been taken to a shelter. We do not know what happened to her mother, so she has also suffered great loss. In the shelter there is not much more food than there was on the street, and submissive dogs still get attacked by the stronger more dominant dogs. Shapka, maybe due to her start in life, or maybe because of her sweet nature, is submissive so shelter life is as bad for her as life on the street was.

These shelters aren't there to help the dogs as such, more to get them off the streets. And, to make matters worse if a dog is not rehomed or fostered after a set length of time they are put to sleep. And Shapka is very quickly running out of time.

This beautiful sweet girl needs someone to give her a forever home. Despite all her hardships, loss and frightening experiences she is a gentle soul who is always happy to see people and is always ready to great them with a lot of tail wagging and many kisses. She loves other dogs as long as they don't bully her or fight with her. At this shelter they allow adults and children in to walk the dogs and she is a big hit with the youngsters, as they are with her. Her loving nature and love of life and anyone who shares it with her will make her a perfect companion if only someone gives her a chance to show it.

Shapka is :

Fully Vaccinated ( incl anti rabies)
Vetchecked
Microchipped
Deflead
Dewormed
Sterilised
Has full EU Pet Passport

CALIN

Friday, 5 April 2013

ADOPTED - CALIN approx 1 year old male possible shepherd mix needing a forever home

Most of the dogs in Romania and surrounding areas are either dumped on the streets, dumped in public shelters which are horrendous places, born on the streets having to fend for themselves and face all kinds of dangers. Starvation being the biggest, beatings, torture, being hit by cars or even killed for money. The streets are a cruel cruel place especially winter time. Some also suffer horrendous cruelty from so called animal loving owners and the lucky ones are taken to private shelters where they are looked after until homes can be found for them, there is also racism amongst dogs over there, yes you read right racism, the colour of the dog or cat can determine whether it lives or dies, black ones especially as they are deemed unlucky !!!

Calin taken to the Radauti public shelter by the dog catchers after being found on the streets. It is not know if he was born on the streets or simply abandoned there.

He is a smart friendly boy and gets on well with the other dogs in his kennel.

He enjoys the company of the volunteers at the shelter in the time that they have to see to the dogs, which is limited as are many of the resources the shelter has, it relies purely on donations especially for food.
Calin would love a home he can call his own and a home with children over 7 would be advised as it is not known how he reacts to young or small children. He can be cat tested.
Calin is still young enough to train and would benefit from this as he is an intelligent little boy. he just needs the chance of a forever home.

Vaccinated to legal requirements for travel
Dewormed
Deflead
Chipped
EU passport

can offer or are interested in offer this furbaby a home, please CLICK HERE to read our adoption procedure and fill out contact form

LIZZY

Tuesday, 23 April 2013

ADOPTED - Lizzy - 10 month old Schnauzer/Terrier cross. Found abandoned and surviving by the side of the road near a garbage area. Now desperately looking for that loving forever home

This is Lizzie, the truly most lovable and truly sweet young dog you could ever meet. Despite her incredible sweet nature her story is an incredibly sad one. Lizzys story below is not an uncommon one, after all Lizzy was born in a country where dogs are viewed as vermin, to be abused , beaten and to suffer the most henious acts of animal cruelty in Europe..This country was Romania.

It was very clear that Lizzy had been abandoned and trying her hardest to survive on the refuse and waste in that area, whilst surviving regular abuse and beatings from anyone she dared to go towards to beg some food from.

It was very lucky for Lizzy that it was rescuers from our charities network that spotted her and not the usual abusers who would go out of there way to drive down or hurt in otherways dogs just like Lizzy

After she was tempted with some food from the back of the rescuers car, she was taken from the side of the road to the local veterinary clinic where she was giving a full MOT, given the all clear and then was Microchipped, dewormed, deflead and fully vaccinated including anti rabies vaccine. Afterwards she was taken to foster for a good meal , a bath and most likely for the first time in her life to know kindness and love from a human instead of being beaten and abused.

It was very clear from all that met Lizzy she was very much a gentle soul who wanted nothing more than to be loved and cared for. During her stay in foster she really was a delight to have in the home. Was found to get along very well with everyone and everything she met, she just wanted to be friends, even with the rescued cats there.

After her quarantine period was up and she was found foster here in the UK, we transported her over and here she is being cared for in the UK by one of our charities volunteers homes.

The assessment of her character can be found below. In short, Lizzy will truly make the most amazing new family member and is incredibly sweet you really will fall in love with her as soon as you meet her.

Lizzy has been:
Microchiped
Fully vaccinated ( Inc anti rabies)
De-wormed
De-Flead
Sterilised
Has full EU pet passport

If you could offer this amazing young dog a forever home, please contact our charity as soon as possible.

Character Assessment by her UK foster mummy:
Dog friendly: Yes  Cat Friendly: Yes   Adult Friendly: Yes     Kid Friendly: Yes

From the second Lizzy entered our home it was clear she was going to be a pleasure to care for. We have 4 dogs of our own including a very silly Staffy, 4 cats and also children. So this really was going to test all areas of Lizzies character and temperament. Keeping in mind we have fostered may rescue for a number of years, I have to say that if this was a test for the perfect pooch she would have passed with flying colors.

Lizzy and Smoochy ( our Staffy) bonded instantly and decided they would go flying aroun th ehouse and garden playing rough and tumble. Even our grumpy little dog who thinks she owns the house did not mind Lizzy being here. As for our cats, Lizzy got the seal of approval from them too, she was interested in them , even sniffed them but show absolutely no signs of aggression in any shape or form not even food aggression which is normally common amongst rescued dogs.

She got along very well with my son and loves to cuddle up on the sofa with him, that is when she is not playing with her new doggy friends.

Lizzy is a very energetic dog, and I would recommend a home with another friendly dog in the house as a play companion for her. The perfect family would be taking her for regular walks and be able to give her all she needs in regards to care, love, mental and physical exercise and she is such a smart. She will be a medium sized dog when fully grown but I would say she has reached more or less her growing capacity.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this sweet playful young dog for adoption immediately.

FLORIAN

Monday, 29 April 2013

ADOPTED - Florian - 11 month Snausser cross , rescued from abuse now looking for his forever home

This sweet young Snausser was rescued after being found with an eye injury where he had recently been a target of abuse as is common in Croatia.

His eye when first rescued was extremely sore where his abuser had caught him, held him down and stamped on his head.

Strays are common targets for drunks and vile abusers who view such animals as vermin, add this to the lack of animal welfare laws being implemented by the corrupt officials who for a bribe turn a blind eye to the crimes...The strays really do not stand a chance and our charity as are our network of rescuers are in a constant battle to not only help the victims, but  to sterilse the strays and to change the opinion and behavior of an entire culture/country.

Because his eye was injured in the photos his eye looks a little redder than it would be. But during his vet check it was found thankfully he had not sustained any long term injury and it is healing nicely.

Considering all he has been through it is amazing doggie who was desperate to be rescued, he needed no help in climbing into the open door on our rescuers car, as if he knew at last this was his chance of that family he had always wanted.

Florian gets along perfectly fine with humans , dogs and cats. Infact he would tick all the boxes most people would be looking for when wanting to adopt a new family member into there home.

If you can offer this lovely young dog that fureverhome please contact our charity as soon as possible

Florian has:
Microchipped
Fully vaccinated including anti rabies
Deflead
Dewormed
vetchecked
Sterilised
Has own EU pet passport

BELLA

Thursday, 2 May 2013

ADOPTED - Bella - 8 month old Female Cocker/Setter Cross - abandoned in the snow when only a few weeks of age, now looking for her forever home

Bella is a little angel abandoned on the streets when only a few weeks of age, she would have died like so many others do in Romania. A country where tiny pups will be walked passed and ignored, or in many cases taken and used for target practice by animal abusers as strays are viewed as vermin to hurt, abuse and destroy.

Luckily for Bella, one person did not walk by when they noticed her sitting inside a doorway trying to keep out of the freezing snow. She was alone, terrified and shivering huddled into a ball to try and survive the weather. Without having any food to eat or fresh water to drink, one way or another even without the abusers catching her, the elements and starvation would have took her.

But this person was among our network of rescuers and rather than ignore this tiny shivering pup, they picked her up and placed her under there coat.

Took her home and gave her a good meal and when she had warmed up and was well fed, off they went to the vets for a check up. Despite the cold and hunger Bella was found to be a very strong little pup and not much needed to be done, barring puppy vaccinations, nourishment supplements and of course defleaing and deworming.

Incredibly no one has offered this little princess a home, she is now 8 months of age and is like so many puppies her age. Exploring the world around her and generally causing puppy chaos and fun.

We believe there is a wonderful home waiting for every stray, sometimes it just needs the right person to come along at the right time...Just like when she was rescued.

This is why our charity had taken Bella under our wing and she is getting ready to enjoy life in UK foster with our charity.

Bella has an amazing character, she gets along very well with other dogs, cats, kids and adores human interaction and fuss.

If you can offer Bella that wonderful home, one just right for this little princess please do contact our charity as soon as possible.

Bella is:
Microchipped
Fully vaccinated ( inc anti rabies and has gone through the quarantine period required)
Dewormed
Deflead
Sterilised
