TILLY,TIGER

WEDNESDAY, 6 MARCH 2013

ADOPTED TILLY:IB TILLY 7 month old female mixed breed needing a forever home

Most of the dogs in Romania and surrounding areas are either dumped on the streets, dumped in public shelters which are horrendous places, born on the streets having to fend for themselves and face all kinds of dangers. Starvation being the biggest, beatings, torture, being hit by cars or even killed for money. The streets are a cruel cruel place especially winter time. Some also suffer horrendous cruelty from so called animal loving owners and the lucky ones are taken to private shelters where they are looked after until homes can be found for them.

Tilly was taken to the Radauti shelter along with her brother Tiger by the dog catcher. It is though the dogcatcher stole them from their yard. They are terrified in the shelter and just stay huddled together in a corner, each other being their security.
Tilly is a very frightened little girl and needs out of the shelter as soon as possible, she will not eat and just stays out of the way all the time. The shelter staff are literally having to feed her off a spoon to make sure she gets some food down her. She will need a patient experience owner to make her feel loved and wanted and above all safe and secure.

CODRU

THURSDAY, 28 FEBRUARY 2013

ADOPTED-CODRU;PH CODRU 5 year old male terrier type needing a forever home

Most of the dogs in Romania are either dumped on the streets, dumped in public shelters which are horrendous places, born on the streets having to fend for themselves and face all kinds of dangers. Starvation being the biggest, beatings, torture, being hit by cars or even killed for money. The streets are a cruel cruel place especially winter time. Some also suffer horrendous cruelty from so called animal loving owners and the lucky ones are taken to private shelters where they are looked after until homes can be found for them

Codru is in foster in Romania, unfortunatelt the lady has to keep him chained up because that is what he has been used too. He was used as a guard dog and knows nothing else.

Codru will need an experienced dog owner, some one who can gain his trust and teach him to trust.

Codru does not like strangers at all, but if he knows you and trusts you he can be a very loving boy.

He will need time to adjust to a home environment and a family with children would not be recommended, especially young children. He will tolerate other dogs but he can be food aggressive, so feeding seperate from other dogs would be best.

Codru just needs the chance of a life with out being changed up and a loving home and know what it feels like to be loved, to be safe and secure in a loving home.

CAKE

SUNDAY, 16 DECEMBER 2012

ADOPTED-Cake, 5 month small old GSD Cross, abandoned in a forest, left to die but now looking for his forever home

Cake, a lovely little 4 month old Mix GSD abandoned when only a few weeks of age, now in desperate need of a forever home. He literally was left all along and found crying and so scared at the edge of a forest in Romania. What this poor little pup must have gone through is awful to even think about. However, he is safe and in our care, and he really needs a forever home.

We have had the honour of fostering Cake, such a wonderful little guy, full of fun, adventure and loves to play and get lots of fuss.

Food wise, well this little guy will eat anything you put infront of him but we tend to keep it simple and feed good quality dry food and of course the obligatory doggy treats.

He is great with other dogs, tolerates cats very well (however has been put in his place by our four cats from time to time) and adores human company.

Cake is:
Microchipped
Vaccinated

Dewormed
Has full EU Pet passport.

Please, if you can give this little guy a forever home where he will be loved, cared for and looked after for the rest of his life contact us today. Cake is now in foster in the UK in the northeast.

VINCENT

FRIDAY, 1 FEBRUARY 2013

ADOPTED Vincent 4 month old male mixed breed medium size needing a forever home

Most of the dogs in Romania are either dumped on the streets, dumped in public shelters which are horrendous places, born on the streets having to fend for themselves and face all kinds of dangers. Starvation being the biggest, beatings, torture, being hit by cars or even killed for money. The streets are a cruel cruel place especially winter time. Some also suffer horrendous cruelty from so called animal loving owners and the lucky ones are taken to private shelters where they are looked after until homes can be found for them. There also racism in the dog kingdom believe it or not, yes you read right racism, many dogs and cats are abandoned simply because of their colour, black ones are deemed to be unlucky !!!.

Vincent taken to the Radauti public shelter by the dog catchers, a horrible horrible place. Fighting for food as much as they would on the streets but at free from some of the dangers. Understaffed, underfunded and unable to give these animals the time they need. The staff do their best but it is heart breaking for them.

Vincent is a funny friendly little boy who deserves a better life than the one he has got. It is not known if he had a home with his mum before or if he was actually born on the streets.

He enjoys human company and gets on with the other dogs and judging from the picture to the left he doesnt mind the company of cats either.

Vincent is a playful little chap and deserves a family to love and care for him, he needs that loving home. with being so young Vincent will be eager to learn and will easily be trained.

It is not known how well he gets on with young children so a family with children over 7 would be advised.

Most of the dogs in Romania are either dumped on the streets, dumped in public shelters which are horrendous places, born on the streets having to fend for themselves and face all kinds of dangers. Some also suffer horrendous cruelty from so called animal loving owners and the lucky ones are taken to private shelters they are looked after until homes can be found for them.

Alice found on the streets in freezing cold temperatures. She would have un doubtidly died of either starvation or the cold if she had not been save and taken to a private shelter.

Alice is a playful healthy little girl, love affection and loves to give that affection in return.

She is thriving and doing well, gets on well with the other puppies in her kennel and with humans too.

She should adapt to family life easily with being so young and should be easily trainable. A family with children over 7 would be advisable as puppies can be rather boistrous.

BONGO

TUESDAY, 12 MARCH 2013

ADOPTED- Bongo - 7 Month old Pekingese Cross, saved from a life on a chain now looking for his forever home

B

Bongo, such a sweet little Pekingese cross pup. This poor little fella was found by a rescuer near where she lives. He had obviously escaped somehow from his home. It was obvious by the state of this little guy the word "Home" has to be used loosely.

He had 3 ropes encrusted into his neck and attached was a piece of chain. He smelled of sheep and livestock so had obviously come from a farm.

In Croatia the majority view dogs regardless of breed/size/gender as something vile,to be used in one way or another.  We know what the three pieces of rope signified and what they meant. They signified a life from a couple of months of age being tied to a chain. When the rope would get tight enough that it may break and actually give its prisoner freedom another piece is put around the neck, and the same again when the dog grows. Dogs like Bonjo are tied up outside houses and outbuildings to use like a live alarm system. They are rarely fed or cared for. Normally kicked and beaten into submission and basically treated like garbage. In Croatia if a dog dies they simply throw the body in the garbage and go out and grab another dog from a street corner and put them through the same horror.

However as mentioned, Bongo had obviously escaped, though not because the rope broke because it was so tight, but by the chain that had kept him prisoner and most likely many other dogs for so long it had rusted away.

Bongo now is in foster, and despite his vile start in life very much wants to look forward to a future. A future of love, care and being part of his very own family.

He gets along very well with other dogs and even cats even if they don't really like him. he adores human company, real human company where they play and care fuss him, not kick and beat him.

He really is a small dog weighing only 6.3 kgs and an absolute sweetheart, and so very clever.

Bonjo is desperate for his own family, a real one, a loving one...Where he will proudly go on walks and enjoy playtime and instead of 3 old pieces of rope he will be wearing a real collar with his name on it, and instead of that vile rusty chain that once kept him prisoner, his collar will be attached to a brightly coloured leash with his new family members holding it securely because they love this little dog with all their hearts and do not want him ever to leave them.

If you can offer this little guy a forever home please contact our charity as soon as possible, Bongo is waiting for you.

 He is
Fully Vaccinated
Microchipped
Deflead
Dewormed
Sterilised
Has his own EU Pet Passport

GARY

THURSDAY, 28 FEBRUARY 2013

ADOPTED GARY :RAA GARY 2 year old male small to medium size possible terrier type cross needing a forever home

This sweet lovable little boy was taken to the Radauti shelter in Romania by the dreaded dogcatchers. A place where no dog wishes to be and most certainly where a dog so young and small should never end up.

Yet this is exactly where Gary found himself and where our charity and the animal welfare group came in.

Gary is such a loving little dog and he adored cuddles from the volunteers that went to this shelter to try the best they can to make the dogs lives that much more comfortable.

He got on extremely well with the other dogs in his kennel, he really is just a playful ball of fluff. Gary has not yet been cat tested so we cannot vouch whether it would come to fisticuffs if he found a home where cats were present but we can cat test him if need be. As for humans, he truly does adore human company.

Gary is now in foster in the UK. He is very loving, very playful but very boisterous so he needs an active family who can excersise him regularly. A large garden would be helpful so he can 'let off steam' when he needs to. However this is not essential.

Gary is:
Fully vaccinated
Microchipped,
Dewormed,
Neutered
Has an EU pet passport ready to travel yto his perfect home.

ZINA

THURSDAY, 7 FEBRUARY 2013

ADOPTED Zina approx 3 year old female mixed breed needing a forever home.

Zina was taken to the Radauti public shelter, a hell hole of a place. extremely cold in the Romanian winters, outside kennels and sharing her space with up to 50 other dogs. food fights do break out as there is very little to go around. The shelter relies on donations and volunteers giving up their time to go in an help. These dogs do not have the same luxury as dogs in some other European shelters.

Zina was abandoned by her family, and this could have been for many reasons, they could no longer afford to keep her, she was getting too old, they wanted a new dog or even moving house and did not want to take her with them or she simply stole a piece of food because she was hungry.
All of the above are reasons for many dogs finding themselves on the streets.

Zina can be a little weary and come across as defensive when she first meets some one, but she soon comes round. Zina gets along with cats and other dogs and is a friendly girl once she gets to know you, all she needs is another chance to be in a loving home.

Children over the age of 7 would be advised as it is not known how she reacts to children.

Fully vaccinated to legal requirements for travel

FRIDAY, 1 FEBRUARY 2013

ADOPTED Bounty 4 month old male pup lab mix needing a forever home

Most of the dogs in Romania are either dumped on the streets, dumped in public shelters which are horrendous places, born on the streets having to fend for themselves and face all kinds of dangers. Starvation being the biggest, beatings, torture, being hit by cars or even killed for money. The streets are a cruel cruel place especially winter time. Some also suffer horrendous cruelty from so called animal loving owners and the lucky ones are taken to private shelters where they are looked after until homes can be found for them.

Bounty destined to a life on the streets and many unwanted brothers and sisters until they finally managed to catch his mum and spay her.

Bounty would have undoubtidly ended up in any one of the situations mentioned above had it not been for his rescue, he is now safe in a private shelter.

Bounty is learning art of walking on a leash, he is a happy healthy little boy, who loves every body and other dogs, though he is showing signs of having a dominant personality, so he will need some one who can be firm but kind with him and not be taken in by those "puppy dog" eyes.

Bounty is a friendly playful boy that needs a loving home. Being only 4 months old training him and adopting to a family environment should be pretty easy for him. It is advised that a family with children no younger than 7 or a family who is experienced with bringing children and dogs up together, would be better for this little one.

ADOPTED Little Zoe - 6 month Female Jack Russel Cross rescued from the snow now looking for her forever home

MONDAY, 18 FEBRUARY 2013

ADOPTED Little Zoe - 6 month Female Jack Russel Cross rescued from the snow now looking for her forever home

This sweetheart was rescued from subzero temperatures sitting all alone shivering in the snow. She had been abandoned on the cruel and vile streets of Romania, knowing the chances of her surviving a few days in these conditions would be a miracle.
However a miracle did happen, she spotted by a rescuer within our network and immediately took to their home where she was fed, dried off and in the morning took to the veterinarian who gave her a clean bill of health.
Now, all she needs is a loving home that will treat her as the princess she is.

Zoe is only small sized dog, very affectionate, playful both in the home and also outside. She learnt immediately to walk in the leash, she walks only close to her carer as being so small and what this poor little dog has been put through understandably she feels the need to stay close to someone she trusts.

She gets along very well with dogs and even cats, children too. She doesn't bite, she doesn't bark, she is gentle and would make the perfect companion dog.

It has been found that even so very young and small, Zoe has realised she is a very cute dog and uses this to get her own way on many things.

Zoe is not  too keen on baths and but slowly is coming around to the idea, especially as she knows a snuggle in a warm towel and a cuddle awaits her.

She is a little intimidated by larger dogs and is more at ease with dogs closer to her size. Please keep in mind on the streets of Romania, dogs like Zoe are targets for the larger more agressive dogs in their fight for survival and dominance. This is where we suspect her nervousness of larger dogs stems from.

There are no problems what so ever with her sharing a home with other dogs or even cats, she truly is a lovely natured little girl, even if she does seem to have an obsession with socks!

If you could offer this little one a forever home, please contact our charity as soon as possible
