Jimmy

Jimmy, wonderful 5-6 year old boy for adoption.

Here is Jimmy a gorgeous cuddly (as you can see from the photo) medium sized lad who is currently in foster in the UK. He came from the Balkans where dogs are treated appallingly, used as targets for all kinds of cruelty and discarded like rubbish when the owner no longer wants them, to live on the streets or end up in a kill shelter.

Jimmy was lucky and came to a wonderful foster home in the UK where he lives with another dog Minnie. He gets on well with other dogs but does not like cats, which is hardly surprising as he probably has never had a positive experience with one, competing for food on the streets.

His current foster carer says that he is brilliant with children, as they have two young children that he gets on really well with. He walks nicely on the lead, but cannot be run off lead as his recall is poor. This may be something that will improve with time and training, but we would never recommend free running a rescue dog until their recall was 100%.

So a medium sized lad who is living with a family, walks nicely on the lead and needs some training. Jimmy loves toys, particularly chew toys – this again may relate to his time in the shelter and be a response to boredom or a way of dealing with his situation. Again this should diminish with time and love.
He is described by his foster carer as ‘polite and loving just wants to be shown love all the time - overall he is a loving handsome little man’.
Could you offer Jimmy a loving permanent home? All he needs are good walks, love and the chance to show love back. Ideal either as a family pet, as he loves children, or a companion dog for an older active person who want to have long country walks.
