ADOPTED - Bia 2 year old female small/medium, brindle mixed breed needing a forever home.
Most of the dogs in Romania and surrounding areas are either dumped on the streets, dumped in public shelters which are horrendous places, born on the streets having to fend for themselves and face all kinds of dangers. Starvation being the biggest, beatings, torture, being hit by cars or even killed for money. The streets are a cruel cruel place especially winter time. Some also suffer horrendous cruelty from so called animal loving owners and the lucky ones are taken to private shelters where they are looked after until homes can be found for them, there is also racism amongst dogs over there, yes you read right racism, the colour of the dog or cat can determine whether it lives or dies, black ones especially as they are deemed unlucky !!!
Bia was left to die on the streets and taken to the Radauti public shelter in north Romania. She was in a terrible state, she had Demodex a nasty skin condition.
The lady who runs the shelter spent a lot of time with Bia getting her back to full health again.
After being on treatment for a long time for the Demodex, as you can see from the pictures, Bia's fur has grown back and she is a beautiful, healthy little girl.
Bia would have died an agonising death had she been left on the streets.
Bia just loves the volunteers at the shelter and the lady who runs it. she adores being cuddled and fussed and is a very friendly happy little girl. She gets on well with the other dogs that she shares a kennel with.
She just needs the chance of that forever home.
