ADOPTED - Fluffy - 3 month old female Croatian Sheperd Cross - Abandoned in the garbage left to freeze to death now looking for that special forever home

When you look at this incredibly beautiful young pup it is hard to believe that anyone could be so utterly cruel to have abandoned her in a garbage container in -37 temperatures with no ability to escape her then metal prison. But this is exactly what happened to her when she was just a few weeks of age.

This incredibly brave little pup did not give up crying out for help, even when she could hear footsteps coming close, then only to walk away. Time and again this would have happened all the while her tiny body becoming weak from starvation and her limbs starting to freeze in sub zero temperatures.

We wish it could be said this was a one off case, but sadly the country Fluffy was born into Croatia, just like some other Eastern European countries pups are unwanted, but rather than sterilise the adults some barbaric people prefer to abandon, abuse or kill pups just like Fluffy. To them it is easier and cheaper than getting the mother sterilised. For pups like Fluffy it is a never ending cycle of horrific cruelty.

Thankfully one person did walk to the container to look inside when the pups cries were heard, but unlike so many who would have done the same that day and then walked on leaving her to suffer, this person was part of our rescuers network and instead of leaving her to die, they picked her out of the rubbish and wrapped her in there coat, taking her home with them until she had warmed up and was fed a good meal. 

Fluffy was then taken to the veterinary clinic for a check up and also to start her vaccinations and deworming etc. She is an incredibly brave puppy with a strong will to live.

The vet gave her the all clear and she now is in foster along with 3 other rescued animals, a black lab mix female and 3 cats. She gets along great with everyone and she is learning to go out side to do her business.  

Adoring human attention she welcomes as many belly rubs and fusses as one puppy can take

We try as much as possible to rehome within the country the animals have been rescued from, however for Fluffy, the cruel reality is because of her stunning, beautiful black fur she stands even less of a chance in such a barbaric and superstitious culture. So, Fluffy will be coming to the UK under our charities wing once her quarantine period is up from her anti rabies vaccine, this will be from the 26th May onwards.

Has full EU Pet Passport ( however unable to travel until after 26th May because still in quarantine period)

She is not mature physically to be sterilised but if adopted before she is 6 months of age we will expect the adopter to ensure this is done as soon as shes matured enough.

This incredible pup is in desperate need of a forever home, she so much wants to be part of her very own family. If you are able to offer her all she needs then please contact our charity as soon as possible.


CROATION SHEPHERD DOG - TRAITS/NEEDS FLUFFY MAY HAVE WHEN SHE IS FULLY GROWN

Because of Fluffys Croatian Shepherd genetics which are visibly stronger than her other cross breed DNA we have put the following advice for potential adopters. We really want to ensure not only does Fluffy fine the perfect forever home, but that the forever home adopts the perfect pooch where both sides will live blissfully together. Please keep in mind that the photo of the adult Croatian shepherd and the advice below is given as a guide only.

This breed grow into strong, social energetic adults. They make excellent family members as long s they are given the right environmental factors. 

EXERCISE: 
Because of the energy and need for human companionship it is vital that the adoptive family are NOT couch potatoes. We are not suggesting they should be fitness fanatics but must be aware that like all dogs, more so in Shepherd and larger working breeds regular exercise, mental stimulation and socialising is imperative for a physically and emotionally stable dog.

TEMPERAMENT:
She will have a herding instinct, and so though as you can see here she will be fine with cats, you must be aware that she is very likely to take it upon herself when out and about to start herding up the ducks at the local pond and so on. So keep her on a leash in public places ( as all responsible owners should do anyway)

FOOD:
A good quality dry complete food is recommended, following your own vets recommended quantities based on Fluffys weight and height. If you start adding too many fancy variations into the diet this can cause havoc on dogs tummies. The secret is to quality not quantity.

THE PERFECT FAMILY:
We would prefer to see Fluffy be adopted by a Shepherd breed experienced family, but even if not experienced, at the least a family that is willing to put time and effort into making sure they provide for all of Fluffys needs as much as she will put all her time into being your very special and loyal family member.

ADOPTED - Masha - 3 month old Female Shepherd/Lab Cross Puppy, crammed into a bucket when 2 weeks of age and left to die. Now looking for his forever home

This is Masha the most gorgeous sweet 3 month old female shepherd mix you could ever wish to meet. Looking at her photo above you would never guess the most vile start he and his siblings had.

This is exactly how Masha and her siblings were found, 7 tiny puppies, eyes still closed crammed into a filthy bucket and left at the bottom of a block of flats with sub zero temperatures outside.

It was only their feeble cries that alerted people to them, many would have seen them, many would have have walked past knowing within hours these poor babies would have either died from the cold or starvation, most likely both. But this is the way things are in Romania, one of the most animal abusive countries in Eastern Europe where strays are deemed vermin to do with what humans wish.

Thankfully a person who did care stopped by them and did the only thing she was able. She had no room herself in their her home and to take them in would risk the local city hall evicting her and her children to the streets. So she took this photo and sent it to a friend, a friend who is part of our rescuers network. 

She waited until they arrived, guarding them as she knew as we do, in Romania pups like this if they did not die from the environment would more than likely become targets of abuse and cruelty by local residents, even local children. The rescuer arrived and collected these tiny pups who were no more than 2 weeks of age, eyes still closed and in desperate need of heat and food.

Then begun the hard job of getting life back into the tiny bodies which would mean every 3 hours for the next few weeks they would have to be bottled fed.

It really is a miracle they all survived, but they did. As each day past each one became stronger and stronger. When they were old enough they were taken for a vet check and vaccinated etc.

Masha was very much the leader of her sisters, she was the first of the girls to open her eyes, would eat greedily and became strong quickly. Though her carer tells us she really is a joy to have around and care for. 

Easily pleased, a warm bottle milk ( now a bowl of puppy milk) and a cuddle is all she needed.

She is a very sociable pup enjoying the company of others dogs and even cats, but most of all enjoying the kindness and fuss from his foster family.

She truly is in desperate need of a loving home, somewhere he will always be safe and can be watched over by his family and in return he will be the most adoring loyal puppy you could wish for.

WALDO, 16 month young shepherd whose life begun in a horrific way, now looking for his forever home

This is Waldo ( Now known as Dexter)  the most handsome  and loving 16 month old male shepherd mix you could ever wish to meet. Looking at his photo above you would never guess the most vile start he and his siblings had.

His was a very inquisitive puppy, as he grew so did his confidence.  a very sociable pup enjoying the company of others dogs and even cats, but most of all enjoying the kindness and fuss from his foster family.

Waldo was adopted in the UK as a puppy, but sadly what he thought was to be his forever home did not out to be the case. Though he was loving, loyal and the good dog that we knew he would be at meal times he was too food obsessed and anyone who are experienced with shepherd breeds know this can be problematic, but can be worked through.






However, for various reasons his then forever family (though the food obsessiveness was not a big problem) they were unable to keep him as they originally were going to.

So this poor lad, through no fault of his own has found his way back under our charities wing and is looking for his forever home again, keeping his paws crossed this time, will really mean his forever home!

He is so eagre to please, and loves all the fuss and attention he can get from his human family. He gets along with other dogs and is an all round well behaved young lad. He really needs to be in a home with an experienced shepherd savvy family that are aware of how much work etc shepherd breeds require and all the quirks that go with these types of dogs, the positive and a few negative.

He just needs that chance, he just needs a family that will understand him and work with him as all shepherds and large working type breeds need to be worked with.

In return you really will have the most wonderful companion and furry family member you could wish for.

ADOPTED - Candy - Beautiful 3 months old Lab/Collie Cross - Only survivor from an entire litter now desperately looking for a home to call her own

This is Candy the most sweetest little 3 month female Collie Cross puppy.

Candy's story:
Candy and her siblings were born in a horrific shelter in Galati, Romania. These places are ridden with disease and for new born pups the survival rate is virtually nil. For those who survive the disease, the starvation, the abuse and cruelty the public shelter workers put strays through, the larger stronger dogs also dying from starvation will pick the pups off one by one as some kind of nourishment and the pups other normally is to physically weak to defend her newborn litter.

This sadly was the case for Candy, one by one she saw her brothers and sisters either die horrific painful deaths a disease ran through their tiny bodies or be torn away from the litter to be killed and eaten infront of her. This is the true reality for any pregnant female that is captured and thrown into the public shelter and in turn the fate for her defenseless pups.

Thankfully for Candy a rescuer from our network visited this public shelter to see if there were any dogs they knew simply would not survive any longer in that place. This is when our rescuer spotted little Candy, trying  her best to hide behind a larger but equally terrified dog. This larger dog unfortunately was not her mother, Candy by this stage had not only witnessed her brothers and sisters horrific deaths, but also....her mothers.

Candy was alone, tiny and so terribly thin that the rescuer knew she must get her out of there and then. This was when Candy's life, until now was full of horror and cruelty began to change.

The rescuer took this little girl to her home where she fed and cared for her until she was strong enough to go to the veterinarian. Day by day she became stronger and her confidence started to build, no longer a terrified little pup, she was now a happy little girl, ready to dream of a future. The rescuer then took her to have a full medical where she was given the all clear, vaccinated and also microchipped.

The rest is history for Candy, she remains in foster care, and soon will be ready to travel to meet her new family, to go to her forever home when the perfect family see her and fall in love with her as everyone else has who have met her.

She is such a small little thing, only about 5 kg in weight but she is getting there. Still growing, still determined to live and holding on to that dream of a loving family just like so many dogs have found through our charity.

Candy is extremely sociable with other dogs, cats and especially relishes human attention. This little pup has had such an awful start in life, we hope by this listing we will prove to her that just because you are dealt one set of cards this does not mean you cannot change that deck.

ADOPTED - ADRIAN:APO Approx 6 month old male lab cross needing a forever home.

Adrian born on the streets of Croatia, relying on the good will of people to feed him. His mother will have had to fight for food to keep herself and her babies alive.

Adrian was at risk of being attacked by people and other dogs and being killed, starving to death or even beaten to death.

Life on the streets of Croatia is hell for these dogs.

Adrian and his sister we staying near a house where a kind lady was feeding them scraps of bread and other food, but unfortunately a neighbour could not cope with their barking for food so he took them to the pound.

He was nervous at first and wouldnt come out of his little shelter for a few days. Once gaining  the trust of those looking after him, he is now quite happy to come out and play and get his cuddles.

Adrian now lets them walk him on a lead, is happy to take food from their hands and loves his fusses and cuddles.

Adrian is a lovely sweet calm boy and once he gets to know some one it is kisses and fusses all the way.

He is approx 6 months old and would easily adapt to a family home, he just needs that chance.
He has been fine with the other dogs in his care.

ADOPTED - Milla - Sweet 6 month old Vizla Cross - On death row urgently needing a forever home

DEATH DATE 6TH JULY - WE HAVE UNTIL 5TH TO FIND HER A HOME

Milla is just 6 months of age and already her life is about to come to an end, all because she was born in Croatia and was captured by the vile dog catchers and from the moment she was thrown into the horrific public shelter the clock begin to when she will be euthanised. In these shelters euthanasia is not always humane.

Milla's Death Date is 6th July, so we have until 5th to find her a home and get her out of that place.

As a charity that helps thousands of animals every year in various ways, we just do not have the resources or foster homes to take all the dogs from death row. All we and our network of rescuers/carers can do is visit the dogs every day, feed them and make sure they are well whilst we try frantically to find each one a home. We get all dogs ready to travel in the hope that they will find homes.

Born on the streets after her mother was abandoned by her family purely because she was pregnant. They would stay infront of one house and an older woman fed them with old bread and so on. One day a neighbor who pretty much sums up the majority of how people view dogs in Croatia,  he had enough of the dogs staying there and called the dog catchers by doing this he literally had sentenced Milla and her mother to death. 

She is very sweet girl, who wants cuddles so much but needs to gain ones trust first as she had been treated quite badly by some people when she was on the street. She is great with all dogs, people at first  but when she knows she can trust you adores human contact.
