COTTON

MONDAY, 6 AUGUST 2012

ADOPTED Cotton, approx 2 years old. Romanian Shepherd Breed. Needing forever home.

This very handsome boy is called Cotton. He was seen wandering the streets looking lost and with a mark that showed he had at one time had a collar and it was felt that he been lost. When he wasn't seen for a few weeks everyone believed that he had found his owners and was now safe and sound.
Just when all seemed well and animal lover contacted the rescue group and told them they had just seen a dog being thrown out of a car and abandoned. On arriving the team found that it was sadly Cotton. He was confused, frightened and looked a lot thinner and dirtier. There is no foster or shelter space so Cotton has to live on the streets but he is fed everyday by the team and local people and along with his food he insists on plenty of hugs and cuddles. He just adores people ! He also gets on with all other dogs.
If Cotton isn't saved from the streets he could get run over or taken by the dog catchers to their horrific shelters where dogs are not cared for properly and quite often die in a very short time. Cotton needs a special person to recognise the love he has in his eyes and give him a forever home.

Cotton will be vaccinated and neutered before being transported to his new home.

ADOPTE Noa=LM, 11 month old female terrier, needing forever home.

Noa was found in a disused building having been abandoned. There was no sign of her mother and she was frightened, starving and in very poor condition. She survived amongst garbage and rats and was covered in fleas and ticks.
Luckily someone found her and she was rescued. Once the fleas and ticks were removed, and she had some good food and plenty to drink she was soon in remarkably good health. At first she had been nervous around people but after a short time her nervousness disappeared and she now loves human contact. Noa is very playful, loves her walks and loves her cuddles. She also gets on well with other dogs.
Noa is de-wormed and vaccinated and has a passport. All she needs now is a forever home where she can have all the love and security that she so needs and deserves.

ADOPTED! Cody, 1.5 years old big size female dog, looking for a forever home

Cody is a 1.5 years old female dog. Altough she is very big, she's a gentle giant. She was abandoned as a puppy on the streets of Bucharest and she grew up near an apartment building, where she was pretty much accepted by most people.
But a few were constanly beating her and some day they took her and throw her away on an empty field, outside the city. We thought we will never gonna see her again. But she found her way back.

Add caption

At that point we decided we are not gonna let her on the street anymore, especially since we found out that those people who throw her in the first place, were planning to kill her.

So, now she is in a canine pension, waiting for a family to adopt her. She is getting along very well with other dogs, also with cats and she enjoys the company of humans.
She could hate humans after she suffered so much, but instead she is enjoying every moment in humans company and she is so gratefull for every comfort touch she receives.

When she's happy she "talks" a lot, telling us in her own special way that she loves us.
Cody is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, all ready to come wherever she is wanted.
She is about 55 cm high.

LEVI

WEDNESDAY, 16 JANUARY 2013

ADOPTD LEVI : IB LEVI small size 2 year old male Terrier Mix needing a forever home

This is Levi, a very cute and friendly dog that was abandoned from an early age on the cruel streets of Succeva, Romania.

He would have faced cruelty and abuse by the humans he came in contact with on a regular basis, yet incredibly he still loves attention from the rescue workers who have access to Radauti Public Dog Shelter where this poor little dog found himself after being trapped by the vile dog catchers.

Radauti shelter used to be one of the worst shelters for animal abuse and cruelty by the shelter workers but now after an amazing initiative allowing a local rescue group to enter 4 hours a day, 7 days a week though things are not as perfect as they would be in the UK.

In comparison to what it was like, the changes are having a positive impact one of which is allow the rescue group to take dogs out of the shelter and to care for them, with the final goal to find them loving homes for dogs just like Levi and his friend here.

This little guy has seen so many horrible things in his short life yet still he has hope in his heart that someone will love and fuss him rather than hit and abuse him. This cute little chap is living outside the Radauti shelter now and being fed and cared for by the volunteers that work there. This is a far better alternative for a shy dog like Levi than trying to survive with much larger dogs that are inside the kennels.

It is clearly obvious Little Levi once had a home by the way he interacts with humans, dogs and also cats. He is a little shy at first when meeting new people, and understandably so considering meeting new people in the past meant pain and cruelty for him. But once he gets to know you and knows you will not hurt him he is just a cuddly furbaby who wants as much fuss and cuddles as he can get.

The only thing we can be certain of in Levis past is he was once part of a family, but as happens all the time over there, once the puppy starts to grow up, the family gets bored and dumps the poor animal on the street knowing full well what it will be facing, that is if he/she is lucky enough to survive.

Keeping this in mind, though he is friendly and is such an adoptable dog, we would advise a family with older children, somewhere he can have the space he needs and the attention he craves for all at the same time. Somewhere, where his family will not expect him to be all over them the second he walks in the door, but where they will encourage his self confidence to grow and to show him that not humans want to hurt him. Somewhere they are experienced dog owners.

Please if you can give this poor little boy that perfect home, please do contact our charity as soon as possible.

Levi is:

Vaccinated

Microchipped

Dewormed

Deflead

Neutered

has his very own EU Pet Passport.

Sandra

THURSDAY, 17 JANUARY 2013

ADOPTED SANDRA : IB SANDRA 11month old female large shepherd cross needing a forever home.

This is Sandra dumped on the streets simply because she stole their chicken !! probably because she was not being fed enough and was starving.

This is often the way in Romania, the dogs are then left to fend for themselves and it is harder for those who have been in a familyenvironment, the streets are a dangerous place for these dogs. Starvation, being beaten or ran over by traffic.

Sandra was taken to the Radauti shelter about a month ago by the dogcatchers and is already showings signs of being a loving gentle giant, the shelter really is no place for these dogs, but it is their only chance of getting a new home.

Sandra is a big girl so plenty of space is needed, a big back garden or yard, or a home near large open areas ideal for dog walking, A family with young children under the age of seven would not be recommended as she is a big dog and small children could be easily hurt or knocked over when large dogs are playing.

She will be fully vaccinated, chipped, spayed and passported ready to travel.

ROSE

WEDNESDAY, 11 JULY 2012

ADOPTED - Rose 3-half years old female collie cross medium to large size needing a forever home

Meet Rose she was born a stray in Romania and the very fact she has survived this long is an achievement in its self !!! Strays are looked upon kindly on the streets of Romania, beaten, starved and killed and killed for money !!!

Rose is now in our sanctuary after being rescued and slowly but surely being brought out of her shell and gaining confidence around people every day. In fact our young son can verify that she loves human company as he follows him everywhere,
On our evening walks, it is always Rose who is by your side, enjoying your company and every now and then will go and play with the other dogs under our wing.

A quiet home would be ideal for Rose as she is still a little shy with people and after how she has suffered on the streets time and affection is what she needs, she has not been tested with cats, so we don't know how she will react to them.

Rose is fully vaccinated, dewormed, spayed and chipped. She also has a full EU Pet Passport.
All she needs now is that forever loving home.

LADY,

TUESDAY, 12 FEBRUARY 2013

ADOPTED - LADY 3 year old female small size possible chiuahua mix needing a forever home

Most of the dogs in Romania are either dumped on the streets, dumped in public shelters which are horrendous places, born on the streets having to fend for themselves and face all kinds of dangers. Starvation being the biggest, beatings, torture, being hit by cars or even killed for money. The streets are a cruel cruel place especially winter time. Some also suffer horrendous cruelty from so called animal loving owners and the lucky ones are taken to private shelters where they are looked after until homes can be found for them.

Lady was taken to the Radauti public shelter a long time ago, she had just been thrown out by her owner for no apparent reason.

Left to fend for herself on the harsh reality of the streets after living in a warm comfortable home.

Lady is a small beautiful little girl who is friendly with every one even cats.

Life in the shelter is not the life she needs, fights over food, cold nowhere warm and comfortable to sleep because the shelters just just not have the resources to give these dogs what they need. The volunteers do their best to give the attention needed but they are only allowed in so many hours per day.

Lady is a gorgeous little girl that deserves a loving home, she has plenty of love and affection to give, all she wants is that forever home in return.

Vaccinated to requirements for travel
Dewormed
Deflead
Chipped
Spayed
EU passport.

TITAN

Titan 3.5 month Terrier Mix Male - Abandoned in the refuse, now looking for a forever home

This is Titan, a really lovely little fella. Though at first he may come across as a little shy, once he trusts you ( or you bribe him with treats) you will soon realise he is as happy and sweet a puppy you could ever meet....However this little girls life began in the most awful of ways, in many respects the most cruelest of ways.

Titan and his siblings were found by a rescuer from our network of volunteers, they had been cruelly abandoned in -37 temperatures next to a dumpster of refuse in an alley way where normally they would have been found either frozen to death or from starvation.

Thankfully someone must have been watching over them all that fateful day as there cries were heard rather than being ignored as they normally are when abandoned like rubbish in Romania.

So many people would have passed them by there, to leave them amongst the refuse they had been discarded alongside of. But the lady who did take notice of their cries was not the average person in Romania.

She was one of our network of rescuers who ( though maybe a little unorthodox but served its purpose) put them all in her shopping bag and carried them to safety, to her home nearby.

Here they all received food and water, warmed up and then afterwards taken to the veterinarian for an examination and to begin their vaccines etc.

As you can see from the photos, day by day with lots of love and care these tiny pups started to flourish and one by one began to become more confident causing mischief and enjoying life knowing now they at last were safe.

Each of them are now ready to start looking for their forever homes. They all deserve a much better life than what the vile human who abandoned them in that alley had planned for them.

Titan, once he gets to know you is a very happy playful puppy, he is perfectly fine with other dogs and also cats. Adores human company and is a very clever little lad.

He is Fully Vaccinated ( though going through hisr 21 day quarantine period at the moment as required by law)
Microchipped
Dewormed
Deflead
Spayed (depending on how old she is when adopted)
Has a full EU Pet Passport

If you could offer this wonderful little pup a loving and caring forever home, please contact our charity as soon as possible
